Southern Bred : 5th volume of Texas Rhythm & Blues artist
The concept of these albums allows a variety of wide-ranging Roots music chosen by the theme of birth, which makes the aural song of the album different from that of a label-based collection. Sitting comfortably side by side are Country Blues Shufflers, Rhythm & Blues Jump Tunes and Rock 'n' Roll music.
The mixed variety of artists include the famous and well-known such as; Bobby Byrd, T-Bone Walker, Little Esther, Joe Houston, Jesse Belvin, and Marie Adams. Changing the style for pulsating Rhythm & Blues rockers from; Big Walter and His Thunderbirds, Paul Monday, Young Jessie and Lester Williams to name but a few. The electric side of Rhythm & Blues is heard via, Pee Wee Crayton and Albert Collins and the foot-stomping Blues of Harmonica Slim and Lightnin' Hopkins demonstrate the diversity of the music in Texas. Some 'unknowns' or 'lesser-known' but equally as good artists include; Wild Bill Moore, Roy Hawkins, Lloyd Glenn and His Joymakers and Baldemar Huerta who is the first Mexican born artist featured in the series and appears using his birth name and his super-star identity.
This Koko Mojo album is compiled by well-known Dee Jay and face on the music scene Mark Armstrong, who has been Dee Jaying since his early teen years.
