Whether you're a golfer or not, it is impossible to watch SPIRIT OF GOLF without getting swept up in the colorful experiences retailed by this cast of characters. Because they are golfers, there is an underlying understanding of Shivas Irons' maxim, 'Trying too hard is the surest way to ruin your game. Watching Felver sashay across St. Andrews and Pebble Beach saying he's reached the joyous point where 'it's easier to walk and just look at the game than play it' seems to this enchanted viewer as the perfect capturing of the spirit of golf. The exceedingly lush visuals of SPIRIT OF GOLF are entwined with a masterfully scripted story, thanks in part to the initial editorial work of Ean Carlson. Jessie Spencer worked as final editor and original music created by Tom Disher brought the film to fruition in the editing suites of San Francisco's Zoetrope Studios.
