Description

Early Harlem recordings from Teddy Riley's formative years, featuring raw funk-driven hip-hop cuts by Al B., B. Fats, and Al Jones. 12" Black vinyl.

Teddy Riley - The Harlem Sessions captures an early chapter in the career of one of New York's most influential producers. Featuring raw recordings from Al B., B. Fats, and Al Jones, the collection documents the stripped-down, funk-driven sound of Harlem hip-hop before Riley became synonymous with New Jack Swing. Alongside the vocal performances are instrumental versions that spotlight the grooves, breaks, and production ideas at the heart of these recordings. Together, the tracks offer a glimpse into the formative Harlem sessions that helped shape Teddy Riley's distinctive musical language.
