First official album release for these genuinely legendary "lost" recordings from 1978 before the band had a record deal.

It's a commonly known fact in deep music circles that Doc Pomus was a uniquely soulful songwriter and all-around enormously interesting, good guy. He wrote incredible songs for all kinds of unequalled artists, from Ray Charles to, yes, the Fabulous Thunderbirds. What isn't so well-known, because there's never really been any physical proof of it, is that Pomus produced an album in 1978 for the Fabulous Thunderbirds and the Roomful of Blues horn section that has never been released.

For no known reason the powers that be in those years just stepped over the possibility of making the release a reality. The tapes went away and that was that. When the Fabulous Thunderbirds finally released their self-titled initial release in 1979, sometimes tagged GIRLS GO WILD, no one really remembers the passed-over release recorded with Roomful of Blues. And, poof, then it was gone. It barely got remembered, often by those who were there.

It's a searing celebration of American music at its best which has laid silent all these decades. Sometimes high points in music take years to find daylight. And, finally, that's exactly what has happened now with some of the most soulful of American artists, produced by a man who helped write some of the very best songs ever written and recorded. It is a collection like no others and will not happen again.
