Description

A tumultuous road to the gymnastics championships

Natasha Coates is a three-time British gymnastics disability champion, with 22 titles to her name. Amongst other conditions, she also has Mast Cell Activation Syndrome. This condition leaves Natasha susceptible to having an allergic reaction to anything and anyone, including herself, at any time.
In October 2018, she qualified for the 2019 British Gymnastics Championships (March) to compete on three pieces: beam, bars, and floor. However, in December 2018, she suffered 27 anaphylactic reactions in two weeks and was in intensive care unable to even walk. In January 2019, with just three months to go before the British Championships, she returns to training, initially being unable to stand up on the beam.

Featuring extensive personal archive and interviews with family, medics, and able-bodied British Gymnastics champion Kelly Simm, as well as full access to the 2019 British Gymnastics Championships courtesy of British Gymnastics, this documentary follows Natasha's tumultuous road to recovery in order to just compete at the gymnastics championships that made her a star.
