Description

New EP from The Kilograms (Bosstones/Bouncing Souls) builds on the momentum created since the release of last year's debut LP Beliefs and Thieves.

'Strike a Match,' the new EP from The Kilograms, builds on the momentum the band has created since the release of last year's debut LP Beliefs and Thieves. Formed by musicians with long résumés across punk and ska, including Joe Gittleman (Mighty Mighty Bosstones, Avoid One Thing, Gang Green), Michael McDermott (Bouncing Souls, Joan Jett), and Sammy Kay. Each member brings their decades of experience, and that background shows in the band's approach: straightforward songs built for the stage, played by musicians who know how to carry a room. The highlight of the EP is their version of 'Lean on Sheena,' written by Gittleman and made widely known through the Bouncing Souls' recording. The Kilograms reinterpret it with a fresh pulse that fits naturally into their live set, giving the song a brand new angle. With Strike a Match, The Kilograms deliver a concise collection that reflects where they are - locked into their collaborative rhythm. It serves as both a continuation of Beliefs and Thieves and a clear marker of the band's growth through touring and playing together night after night.
