As Filthy As We Wanna Be marks the explosive return of South Florida punk veterans The Mary Tyler Whores, a band whose reputation was forged through unforgettable live performances, fearless attitude, and decades of underground notoriety. Originally formed in the early 2000s and featuring early contributions from the late Joey Image of Misfits fame, the band shared stages with punk legends including Iggy Pop, GBH, Murphy's Law, The Casualties, The Bouncing Souls, and T.S.O.L. before frontman Frankie 'Crime' Cassara revived the group in 2023 with much of its original lineup.

Recorded with legendary guitarist Greg Hetson, the album unleashes fifteen uncompromising punk anthems featuring guest appearances by Angelo Moore and Riff Raff. The momentum surrounding the record accelerated when the single 'American Sex Fiend' caught the attention of Iggy Pop, who added the track to his celebrated BBC Radio 6 program Iggy Confidential, introducing the band's renewed chaos to an international audience.
