'The Siderunners play ass kickin' alt. country with grit, style, and heart. Veterans of the Chicago punk music scene (ex-members of the Vindictives, The Tossers, and Pruno), these musicians seamlessly cross genres and sound as if they've been playing country thier whole lives. Laughing in the face of an increasingly indie-centric Chicago music scene, the band replaced the 'requisite' lap Steel by adding ex-Tosser and fiddle player extraordinaire Jason Loveall to the mix, followed by jazz virtuoso Todd Hill on Upright Bass. Far from lightening the band's punk rock overtones, the addition of these traditionally low-key elements has made the band more fierce than ever. The Siderunners have been embraced by Chicago from both the punk rock and country sides of the fence, playing with such bands as The Violent Femmes, The Honor System, Plan A Project, and the Tossers, to Alan Jackson, Robbie Fulks, Junior Brown, and Southern Culture on the Skids.'
