The music was without precedent; the musicians uncompromising; the recordings hammeringly intense and the sound deep, radical, and rich. This was music stripped back to the bone but never simplified. This Heat emerged in early 1976 on the leading edge of what became as the New Wave, but were always apart, more scary and more subtle. Known as the most left-field band in the country.
