TINGO is the new jazz/folk name on the Scandinavian music scene. Nominated for 'New name of the year' at Danish Music Awards Jazz 2023 and Danish Music Awards Roots 2023, Tingo's second album 'Medvind Modvind' will be released on April Records in October this year. The album title Medvind Modvind (Headwind Tailwind) is taken from the record's title track, and it's about the dance of life. It's about the powerful gusts of wind, sometimes pushing us in the desired direction, other times like a wall we have to press through, and sometimes we just drift slowly, like majestic clouds in the evening sky.The instruments intertwine and react, allowing melodies to weave in and out - like a playful wisp of wind rustling and ratting leaves and branches. Tingo renew and revitalise old scandinavian folk melodies in their jazz approach, and mix them with their original compositions.
