The Lithander brothers left their mark on the musical life of Finland, Sweden, Russia, England and Germany both as amateurs and professionals. The best known of them was Carl Ludvig, whose works are mostly for the piano. He composed e.g. sonatas, set of variations, duets, fantasias and polonaises. The works of C.I.Lithander come close to those of Mozart and Haydn in style, but the influence of Beethoven can also be felt.
