1988 studio album from the original, distinctive Dr. Feelgood (& later Blockhead) manic guitarist and songwriter
The original, distinctive Dr. Feelgood (& later Blockhead) manic guitarist and songwriter's
1988 studio album; his third post Feelgoods. Ten Wilko Johnson originals, and the first to feature renowned bassist The Blockheads' Norman Watt-Roy.
When Dr. Feelgood burst on the UK scene in 1975 with their energetic R&B, they symbolised a return to the basics and away from the bloated pomposity rock had become, and paved the way for punk. 'Their first three studio albums had the same R&B/primal rock/blues character as the original Stones' - Trouser Press. After four albums, guitarist and songwriter Wilko Johnson left over musical differences, and continued with his own band and his trademark choppy rhythm/lead blues style. Constant worldwide touring with his bassist foil, Blockhead Norman Watt-Roy, has kept Wilko's reputation as one of the hottest r&b guitarists intact. Wilko stars in Julien Temple's 'Oil City Confidential' film of the Dr. Feelgood story, with Wilko as the central character.
Tracks: 1. Living In The Heart Of Love; 2. I Keep It To Myself; 3. Waiting For The Rain; 4. Turned 21; 5. Barbed Wire Blues; 6. If You Want Me, You've Got Me; 7. Letting The Night Go By; 8. Take Me Back; 9. The Hook (Little Darling); 10. Out In The Traffic.
